Email Setup instructions
With Netscape:
- Go into Netscape
- Click Edit
- Click Preferences
- Go down to Mail&Newsgroups and click on it
- Click on Identity
- Under your name type your name in
- Then put your e-mail address in:expample login@allidaho.com
- Now go back to the left of the screen and click on Mail servers
- Make sure that mail.allidaho.com is in the big white box, under Incoming Mail Servers
- If it is not there, then press the "add" button
- In the server Name box type in mail.allidaho.com
- In the server type box make sure you specify Pop3 server
- In the user name box just type in your login
- Press ok
- Now go down to Outgoing mail server area.
- In outgoing mail (SMTP)server box it sould say mail.allidaho.com
- If it doesen't then enter it in.
- Now go back to the left hand side and click on Newsgroup Servers
- Make sure that news.allidaho.com is in the big white box under Newsgroup Servers
- If it is not ther. Press the "Add" button
- The Newsgroup server Properties box should come up.
- In the white server box type in news.allidaho.com
- In the port box it should say 119
- Nothing should be checked
- click ok
Now your e-mail should work
With Outlook Express:
- Open Outlook Express
- Go and click on Tools at the top
- Click on Accounts
- Go to the mail tab In the big white box there should not be anything in it, if there is click the "Remove" button
- Now click the "Add" button
- Click the mail Selection
- Where it says Display Name, in the white box type in your full name
- Press next
- You should be in the Internet E-mail Address section now.
- Click on the circle to put a dot in, where it says, I already have an e-mail address.
- Now in the white box where it says E-mail address type in your. Example login@allidaho.com
- Press next
- Now you should be in the E-mail server Names Section
- Make sure that where it says "My Incoming Mail Server is a" You have POP3 server
- Now in the white box under Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP, or HTTP)server, You need to type in mail.allidaho.com
- Now put mail.allidaho.com in the white box under Outgoing mail (SMTP) server
- Click next
- Now you should be in the Internet Mail Logon section
- In the white box next to account name just type your login name (example: login)
- Now in the white box next to Password type in your password.
- Press next
- Press Finish
You should now be able to receive e-mail
